NEGATIVA, the Quebec-based band featuring former GORGUTS members Steeve Hurdle (guitars) and Luc Lemay (guitars), along with Etienne Gallo (drums, ex-AUGURY) and Miguel Valade (bass, ex-ION DISSONANCE), is thrilled to announce the addition of new vocalist, Roxanne Constantin, who has worked with QUO VADIS and AUGURY.
Commented Hurdle : "With her emotional voice, her love and knowledge of music, Roxanne will add a fresh colour to our sound. We felt that it was time for us to explore new avenues, so we’ve made significant changes to our musical approach. The four musicians are now involved in the writing process, which brings more diversity to our sound. Our music is therefore becoming more experimental, progressive and ambient. This natural evolution will broaden our horizons sound-wise. We’re really looking forward to share our new creation with all of you."
Last June, the band went back to Wild Studio to record the instrumental version of three new songs: Deepen the mystery (9:46); The loss (14:56); …And the unknown (6:52). They will be back in studio to record the vocals at the beginning of next year.
NEGATIVA's debut-MCD (2006) can be heard online, but the most recent song on that demo was written six years ago.

The last few weeks have been very thrilling for us as we have finally arranged to enter studio in mid-September to record three songs. We will again be working with our old friend Pierre Remillard but this time it will be at his famous Wild Studio. Pierre has produced Gorguts’ very first demo And Then Comes Lividity back in 1989, plus the albums Obscura in 1998 and From Wisdom To Hate in 2001. Things are coming slowly...but we move on! We have 5 songs done so far, here's the titles:

Lately we change bassplayer, Dominic from AUGURY coudn't make it, he was too busy with his 2 other bands. So, from now on, Miguel Valade (Ex-ion dissonance) fill the spot, he is a cool guy and he his a very good bass player!
We want to enter studio in late April or May to record our debut demo...we will see if things will be ready!

NEGATIVA, Steeve Hurdle’s new band (Ex-GORGUTS / PURULENCE), has completed its line up: Steeve on vocals / Guitar, Luc Lemay (Ex- GORGUTS) on vocals / guitar, Dominique Lapointe on bass (QUO VADIS, AUGURY, ATHERETIC) and Etienne Gallo (AUGURY) on drums. A website is under construction and shirts will be available from GWN soon. The band should enter the studio in the winter for a promo recording. It’s all speculation right now but NEGATIVA might be touring with TOWARDS DARKNESS and PAROXYSM in the spring of 2006. More on this as things develop. I got mail from Luc with not so good news first..
It's true that I've decided to end GORGUTS last year...
There will be a official statement soon here.
I will release a live cd from the tour we did in 93' for EROSION....and also a DVD later in 2006 from the OBSCURA tour.
I took a long break from music and started my own business....I'm a full time self taught wood carver now.....I have a nice workshop, I design and build fine furniture and I carve alot of signs for business.
But now I feel for me it's about time to come back to music with my long time partner in crime and best friend Steeve Hurdle.

There is news on the Gorguts front! In 2006 there is gonna be a live DVD and CD! To quote the site:
We are pround to announce that GWN will be releasing a GORGUTS DVD in 2006! Luc Lemay agreed on our terms and we are all pretty excited about this project. The DVD will include a concert filmed at the "Whiskey A Gogo" in Los Angeles, while the band was on tour for "Obscura". It will also includes tons of cool pictures and interviews with Luc and Steeve Hurdle... This is slated for a mid 2006 release; a lot of work has to be done... But to keep you on your toes for the DVD, we are also releasing a Live CD in early 2006... This concert was recorded in 1993 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, during the band's only European tour. This has been circulating for a while now in the underground and Luc decided to make it officially available through GWN. T-shirts and hats will also be available to commemorate the release of both projects!

As for the DEATH tribute...I still don't know which song I'm going to do. Writtting-wise, I'm working on a project with Steeve Hurdle...I'm gonna tell the name of the band later. We're hoping to release an EP then we'll work on a full lenth album.The music sound a bit like OBSCURA... even weirder!!!!! I'm also working on a piece for string orchestra, a kind of INTERMEZZO, MARCHE FUNEBRE thing.
Well that's all the news I got so far!!!!
so hopefully soon new music, i can't wait!

Former DEATH/TESTAMENT/OBITUARY guitarist James Murphy has provided BLABBERMOUTH.NET with the following exclusive update on his current activities:
"The DEATH tribute project I am working on organizing and will soon begin recording is officially titled: 'Within The Mind - An Homage To The Musical Legacy Of Chuck Schuldiner'. I will begin pre-production rehearsals with primary drummer Dave Culross [MALEVOLENT CREATION, ex-SUFFOCATION] some time in the next couple weeks but will spend time fleshing out the final tracklist and deciding who will do what with Deron Miller [CKY] for a few days immediately prior to the rehearsals.
"So far there are quite a few confirmed guests. Those include: me, Deron Miller, Dave Culross, Mikael Thomson [SLIPKNOT], Paul Gray [SLIPKNOT], Brett Hoffmann [ex-MALEVOLENT CREATION], Ross Dolan [IMMOLATION], Mike Chlasciak [PAINMUSEUM, ex-HALFORD], and Terry Butler [SIX FEET UNDER, ex-DEATH, MASSACRE].

The majority of the overdubs from all the guests will be recorded by myself at various studios and remote locations via a powerful mobile recording system. I will carry this system around with me to a few different locations in both the U.S. and Europe, in order to most cost effectively gather the performances of all the contributors. The album will then be mixed, by myself and, if everything works to plan, at least one other 'name' producer of note.
"This project was conceived by Deron Miller as a means to help me raise money for my medical bills and has the blessing of the Schuldiner family.
"If all goes well, I intend to get started with pre-production and final writing sessions for the second DISINCARNATE CD, which is still untitled at this point, as soon as the 'Within The Mind' project wraps."

gorguts still exist they did not look for a drummer yet,steve and luc are writing songs. when they will be ready to recorded they will hire a drummer.
